Contact Course In KTU | Clarification on Contact Courses

What Is Contact Course In KTU ?

The Contact Course is a 20-hour class by a faculty concerned to a particular subject. The Class is organized by the College on the written request of a student.
The Contact course registration is considered as a fresh course registration.
The Faculty or teacher concerned will conduct the internal evaluation procedures and will allow the marks as per the regulations.

A student can register for the contact course if he or she has to earn credit for only one course (FE IN ONE COURSE / COURSE INCOMPLETE / NOT F ) for the degree after completing  8 semesters studies.

The Final Examination for the contact course will be conducted by the college under the monitoring of an external academic auditor.The Question Paper for the same will be distributed by the controller of exams.

The Maximum Grade that a student can gain after the contact course is C. No grade above that will be provided.

REGISTER IN STUDENTS GRIEVANCE PORTAL | GET ACTIONS FOR YOUR GRIEVANCES

This student grievance redressal portal aims to function as an intermediary between the students, Universities, Institutions and the Ministry of Higher Education. The portal is made available to students studying in various Universities and Institutions across Kerala. Each grievance will be rightly handled by nodal officers at the University and Institution levels, and also will be closely monitored by the Office of the Higher Education Minister

HOW TO REGISTER

• Create an Account
Both Students and Prospecitve Studens can create account in the portal http://ihrd.kerala.gov.in/studentsportal. Click on relevant button and fill the details to create a new account
• Verify OTP to activate account
An OTP will be sent to your mobile number. Login using the username and password and click on 'OTP Verification' tab and enter the OTP to activate your account
• Submit your Grievance
Once the OTP has been verified, you can submit your grievances

HOW IT WORKS

Grievance submission
Submit grievances related to academics, examination, results, complaints and suggestions related to institutions, management and universities.

Nodal officer in Universities
A nodal officer at each University/Institution will attend the grievances received and will forward it to the concerned personnel for redressel actions. Portal will be updated with most recent information.

Status Updates
Comments and actions taken at each level will be updated in the portal

Continuous monitoring by Minister's Office
Portal will be monitored by Minister's Office and necessary actions will be taken for delayed responses towards grievances submitted.

• It is hereby notified that the result of B.Tech S8 Exam May 2019 is published. The detailed results are available in the KTU website: www.ktu.edu.in.


• Discrepancies, if any related with CGPA should be intimated to ​the ​University through email on or before 18th July, 2019 4pm (​mail ​ID: [email protected]). Belated requests will not be entertained.


• Students are informed that Registration for Answer script copy and Revaluation will be opened in the KTU portal from 23.07.2019, Tuesday noon to 25.07.2019, Thursday. The fee for answer script copy is Rs.500/- per answer script and for revaluation, Rs.600/- per answer script. Students should submit their requests through student login and pay the fee at College office on or before 25.07.2019, Thursday.




• Semester grade cards for 8th semester can be downloaded ONLY by students who fulfil all mandatory eligibility criteria stipulated by KTU for the award of B.Tech degree. CGPA will be displayed in the curriculum page in student login, only for eligible students


• The CGPA will be displayed in the student login as and when the students satisf​y​ the required eligibility criteria set by KTU


• The B.Tech and B.Tech Hons results will be published soon. Provisional degree certificates for B.Tech and B.Tech Hons will be made available immediately after the declaration of B.Tech results


• Request for Migration certificate (routed through respective institution logins) will be entertained only after the issuance of Provisional degree certificates

KTU 2019 Scheme First Year Syllabus

The A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) relaxed the norms of the controversial year-out system for BTech courses after students’ protest forced the government to intervene in the issue.As per the new norms, announced on Wednesday, the credit system for considering year-out has been relaxed from three to two levels.The minimum credits will be insisted only in Semester 5 and 7. Earlier, it was insisted for Semester 4, 6 and 8. Students with 26 credits in Semester 1 and 2 can join semester 5. For that they need to pass at least 6 papers. For joining semester 7, the students should have a minimum of 52 credits, which can be achieved by clearing 12 papers.The decision was taken in the meeting convened at the chamber of Education Minister C Raveendranath. Representatives of students’ unions and University Vice-Chancellor Kuncheria P Isaac attended the talks. Left wing students’ unions AISF and SFI welcomed the decision. However, the All-Kerala KTU Students’ Union and KSU decided to continue with their demand for repealing the year-back system. KTU introduced the year-out system from the academic year 2015-16. Initially it mandated a student should obtain minimum 35 credits out of 47 to enter the third semester.The minimum credit for third semester entry was lowered to 26 following the students protested. Revaluation Refund Status Details Published | Download list

Students who have secured more than 15% mark variation on revaluation of the examinations listed below are eligible to get the refund of their revaluation fee of Rs.600/- per paper
